Peak District Love

Nathan first spotted Ellie in The Queens Arms, Bakewell. He was in awe of her looks and how she carried herself. As he mustered up the courage to approach, he was equally impressed by the fact that she was wearing converse; beautiful and practical, he thought. She introduced herself as Lauren Eugene Maze. A few days later Nathan was looking to connect online and it seemed Miss Maze was quite elusive. He then discovered her real name and asked her out on a first date.
Ellie and Nathan's chance meeting has led to many adventures exploring the beauty of the Peak District. Whether hiking through the hills or cozying up in a country pub, they've built unforgettable memories in this beautiful place. After moving in together in 2015, their bond continued to deepen over long walks and picnics taking in the spectacular scenery. It was during one such outing in September 2020 that Nathan surprised Ellie with a proposal fitting for their story - surrounded by the peaks they both cherish.
For their wedding day in 2022, Barlow Woodseats Hall was the venue. Nestled in the Derbyshire countryside with its rustic charm, it offered the intimate setting they craved. Ellie envisioned boho garden party feels with blooms bursting throughout. Ellie walked down the aisle to "Moon River," sparking memories of past adventures. During Ellie's bride speech she said a few words that perfectly encapsulated how her new groom makes her feel.
“I can honestly say that every single day feels like a little mini adventure with you. Even on the most mundane of days and I still wake up really happy and excited to see you and spend time with you. You’ve always been the most respectful caring and positive person that I’ve met and you’ve always made me feel safe and loved. Even when we’re not in each others presences. So I hope that you know how special you are and I can’t wait to spend the rest of my life trying to make you feel even half a s happy as you make me feel.”
Their first dance to a Lionel Richie favourite kicked off celebrations with loved ones. While the day flew by in laughter and love, the moments captured in our film will remind them forever of the beauty that brought them together in a place that is special to them.
Their peak district love story is a reminder to cherish connections through simple times in nature, as the beauty found outside can often reflect what blossoms within.
